Faculty

Dr. Evans is an Instructional Professor in the College of Technology at the University of Houston main campus where he teaches several management and leadership courses in the Department of Information Science Technology. Some of the undergraduate courses which he teaches are: Organizational Leadership and Supervision, Human Resources in Technology, Team Leadership, Leading Change in the Workplace, and Current Issues in Technology. He also teaches graduate courses in Project Team Leadership for Technology Professionals, and the two-semester capstone course in Project Management. Dr. Evans serves on the University of Houston Athletic Advisory Committee, the University of Houston Faculty Senate, serves as the Director of Cougars for Kids (a community service volunteer outreach program that he created in 2008 to provide University of Houston student volunteers to serve in many of Houston's children's hospitals and schools), and he is an active volunteer at Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital. Dr. Evans is also the College of Technology representative on the UH-Third Ward Initiative (created by President Khator as a community service initiative to reach out to Houston's Third Ward Community).

Dr. Evans holds a Maste's Degree in Behavioral Sciences from the University of Houston-Clear Lake and a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from The Union Institute. He has taught various graduate and undergraduate management courses as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Houston-Clear Lake, the University of St. Thomas, Houston Baptist University, and Our Lady of the Lake University-Houston. Dr. Evans was an Assistant Vice President at Houston Baptist University (HBU) where he was responsible for directing two departments, and he was an Adjunct Professor in the HBU College of Business and Economics.

Dr. Evans also provides management consulting, organizational development, training and development, human resource management, and employee assessment services for several of Houston's leading organizations. Some of the training workshops which he provides are: Leadership Development, Basic Skills for Supervisors, Customer Service Skills, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Communication Skills, Motivating Employees, Conflict Management, Team Building and Team Skills, and Stress Management and Personal Wellness. Workshops are highly interactive, utilizing small team discussions which focus on "real world" problem solving scenarios. He has been a consultant for 25 years, and he has conducted more than 400 training and development seminars and workshops. Workshop evaluations are always excellent.
