The 2001 National Student Design Competition conducted by the Engineering Design Graphics Division of the American Society of Engineering Education in conjunction with the American Society for Engineering Education's annual convention held in Albuquerque, New Mexico on June 24-27, 2001 resulted in three UH teams gaining honorable mentions. UH Team 1, UH Team 11, and UH Team 19. Team 19 earned a high honorable mention. Mechanical Technology Professor Ronald Paré was the faculty advisor for all the teams mentioned.
