Certified Customs Specialist

The NCBFAA's Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) Certification Program is designed to assist trade professionals involved in the import industry to become experts in the current import regulations. Whether you have a broker’s license, or you have just a year or two of related experience, this course will provide you with a solid foundation for you to increase your industry knowledge. The CCS course will review fundamental points relevant to the importation process while delving into practical, relevant subject matter not generally tested on the formal Customs licensing exam. Each topic will help you grow and develop as an import professional. You will find that participating in the CCS program will provide you numerous venues for honing your professional skills while continuing to stay up with the rapidly changing marketplace within import industry. 

The principal acts involved in the importation of goods, Customs Brokers licensing requirements and agency agreements, The U.S. Harmonized Tariff Classification System, Tariff treatments and trade agreements, Valuation and Classification, Informed Compliance, Assessment of Duties, Marking of Imported Goods, Drawback and refunds, Special Requirements, Antidumping and Countervailing Duties, Foreign Trade Zones, and Recordkeeping. 

The CCS Course can take up to six-months to complete, is self-paced, online offering consisting of 25 modules (each ending with a summary quiz), 4 checkpoint quizzes, and a cumulative, proctored final exam (Online).

Master Customs Specialist

The Master Customs Specialist (MCS) Certification designates its holders as possessing advanced knowledge and skills in U.S. Customs and its partner government agencies. A highly prized and recognized accomplishment, the course leading to certification provides the practitioner with a depth of expertise beyond the day-to-day operational demands of Customs brokers and import operations. It instills the expertise to advise clients on strategic considerations and risk management. It also provides a deeper understanding of the impact and great implications of day-to-date decisions and enhances the holder's ability to exercise responsible supervision.

Certified Export Specialist

The NCBFAA's Certified Export Specialist (CES) certification program is designed to help trade professionals involved in the export industry to become competent and knowledgeable in the current export regulations. You will find that participation in the CES program will provide you numerous venues for honing your professional skills while continuing to keep up with the rapidly changing marketplace within which OTI/Freight Forwarders function. The coursework that will be available is varied and wide ranging, encompassing all aspects of the trade.

The CES Course can take up to one year to complete, self-paced online offering with a proctored final exam (Online).

Master Export Specialist

Designed for a broad audience that includes shippers, carriers, freight forwarders, bankers, government employees, insurance professionals and students alike, this certificate program introduces an even higher level of excellence to the NEI's outstanding continuing education program with the addition of its newest credential; a 60-hour online export certification program entitled the Master Export Specialist (MES)

The MES program is the result of more than a year of development that was undertaken in conjunction with the Los Angeles based supply chain training firm, Trade Facilitators, Inc. Fully narrated with multiple animation features, this on-demand, 10-Module course takes a hands-on approach to all facets of exporting from the United States. Students must complete a final exam and scholarly essay to earn the MES designation.
