Careers in Environmental Biotechnology

Environmental biotechnology applies to and studies environmental problems, such as the removal of pollution created by industries in land, water and atmosphere.

Producing renewable energy by exploiting biological processes benefit the environment. Biofuels and chemicals are currently produced using agricultural residues such as corn stover, wheat straw, sugarcane waste and agricultural residues, industrial waste and algae.

Genetically engineered micro-organisms and plants clean up toxic wastes from industrial production and oil spills.
