Minela Bajrovic earned her Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering Technology with a minor in Electrical Power Engineering Technology from the Technology Division at the Cullen College of Engineering in 2011. She is now combining those concentrations as an applications engineer at PAS focusing on industrial automation. She is honored to give back to the university and college that made that career a possibility as president of the Technology Alumni Association.
Minela is an ambassador for the Technology Division at the Cullen College of Engineering in all phases of her life. During the work day, she serves our Cougar community as a university liaison at her company. She has spoken on panels and attended University of Houston career fair events. When she is not at work she is busy supporting our students and faculty as a board member and scholarship chair in the International Society of Automation. She is also promoting innovation within the college as a member of the Computer and Electrical Power Engineering Technology Advisory Board.
As the president of the Technology Alumni Association, Minela's mission has focused around student engagement. She helped forge a link between alumni and current students through the innovative panel series Meet the Alumni where students get a chance to meet with recent alumni in a setting that allows students to ask the questions that they may otherwise not feel comfortable asking and offer alumni a chance to directly impact current students. Under her leadership, the TAA has solidified its place in the university by achieving Platinum status from the UHAA. This award is the highest honor given to alumni groups recognizing achievement in alumni relations and support of the University.
Minela hopes to continue her efforts in raising the profile of the Technology Division at the Cullen College of Engineering and the University as a whole!
