I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Science Technology at the University of Houston, with a joint appointment in the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) department. Prior to this, I served as a Research Scientist at the University of Florida, collaborating with Professors Sanjay Ranka and Anand Rangarajan. I earned my Ph.D. in Computer and Information Science and Engineering from the University of Florida in 2012 under the supervision of Professor Sartaj Sahni.
My research primarily focuses on AI applications in healthcare, addressing challenges such as:
Predicting the success of deep brain stimulation (DBS) in patients with Parkinson's disease and essential tremors.
Developing predictive models for chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) based on genomic analyses and environmental effects.
Leveraging AI to proactively identify individuals at risk for depression and suicidal ideation.
For prospective students and postdoctoral researchers: Thank you for your interest in our research group! Please feel free to reach out via email. I am looking to recruit a postdoc and a PhD student in the next admissions cycle.
