How has the program helped you achieve your academic or career goals?

Being part of the RCS undergrad program helped me discover the GRET program. I never imagined that I would continue my studies after I graduated from the Retailing program, but I felt that there was still so much for me to learn from my peers as well as the professors. Right after my first semester within the program, I obtained an internship working at Academy within product development which has always been a goal I set for myself! So I felt very accomplished and motivated right from the start.

What aspects of the program (e.g., courses, instructors, support, etc.) have you found most valuable?

I strongly value the professors in the program very much. They have offered me kindness and support all throughout my time at the University and I couldn’t be any more grateful.

What advice would you give to someone considering joining the program?

Having passion for learning and doing the things that you love and setting goals will help you in the long run. For those who are afraid of the challenge, you set everything at your own pace where being able to balance your time will come in handy. This program is a great start for those who are wanting to take the next step in their career, especially because of how fast the retail industry is growing.

Please share any other thoughts or experiences that stand out to you:

In my undergrad, I had the opportunity to travel abroad and it was the most eye-opening and wonderful experience during my time at UH. The professors that dedicated their time to travel made the experience worthwhile. Being able to apply concepts that was taught in classrooms was very gratifying because it allowed me (as well other students) to see the impact is has throughout different cultures.
