Student Support

There are two options for students to receive support to participate in QPRC 2023. Qualified students are invited to apply to one or both opportunities following the instructions below.

Mary G. and Joseph Natrella Scholarships

Two winners of the Mary G. and Joseph Natrella Scholarships will receive a $3,500 grant, a $500 stipend toward travel and housing expenses, and complimentary registration for the conference and the pre-conference short course. In addition, winners of the Natrella Scholarships will give a presentation on their research at the conference.

Apply at Mary G. and Joseph Natrella Scholarships by March 17, 2023.

NSF Travel Fund Award

A limited number of travel funds will be awarded to participating students to help defray their cost of transportation, hotel accommodations, and registration fees.

To be eligible for an award, applicants must:

  1. Be a current student or graduate in Spring 2023
  2. Participate in the poster session
  3. Be willing to share a hotel room with a same-gender student (#3 applies to non-local students only)
  4. Make their own travel arrangements (including booking a room at the Holiday Inn Houston Downtown, which must be booked by May 7, 2023 at the discounted conference rate)
  5. Save relevant itemized receipts for full or partial reimbursement after the conference

Please note that local students who reside in the Greater Houston Metropolitan area are only eligible for an award that covers the conference and/or short course registration fees.
