Elizabeth Rodwell, assistant professor of digital media, has been appointed as executive director of the Houston chapter of the User Experience Professionals Association (UXPA), a global organization for user experience (UX) professionals. The mission of UXPA is to help train and mentor the next generation of user experience professionals, advocate for the profession, and foster collaboration opportunities for established UX researchers/designers. Dr. Rodwell’s term will begin in January 2020; and, will include planning educational and networking events for members. In addition, she will establish the leadership team for Houston UXPA, which will include appointing directors for member communication and administration and finance. Rodwell’s new role will help position the University of Houston more prominently within the Houston UX community.
