Envisioning an increase in College of Technology alumni involvement, a team of six alumni have hit the ground running with plans for tailgating and monthly Technology Tuesday socials that began with the fall 2019 semester.
Serving as interim president of the Technology Alumni Association (TAA), long-time supporter of the College of Technology, Richard Franco (’79) is president and founder of West Star Financial which specializes in commercial and residential mortgages. An avid proponent of the UH College of Technology, Franco has volunteered his time and support for twenty years. A proud University of Houston Alumni Association Life Member and member of the College of Technology Advisory board, he has supported the University of Houston community by serving as past president of the Technology Alumni Association, and as a committee member for Operation School Supply, the Teaching Excellence Awards, Cougar Advocates for Texas, and the UH Alumni Association Council.
Working alongside Franco are Cathy Reno (’92) , vice president, Maricela Olivo (’16) secretary, Andre Small (’10) treasurer, Sean Joseph (’96) and Adrian Villarreal (‘16), co-directors of social media; and, Carmel Glumac (’12) chair of TAA tailgates.
