For the fifth time, a student enrolled in construction management program at the University of Houston has earned the highest score in the nation on the rigorous American Institute of Constructors (AIC) certification exam. Sami Belaiter, who looks forward to graduating in December 2019, scored 278 out of 300 – 97%. Based on the results provided by AIC, the national passing rate is 61.9%. Students in the UH construction management program score above the national average with a passing rate of 80.8%.
Many accredited construction management programs require students to take the 8-hour AC exam. The UH program, in the College of Technology, is the only one to require it for graduation. With a passing score on the AC exam and four years of professional experience, students can sit for the second level exam, the Certified Professional Constructor (CPC). The CPC is similar to the Professional Engineering license for engineers.
