ASQ Elects Jamison V. Kovach Fellow

The ASQ (formerly the American Society for Quality) has elected Dr. Jamison V. Kovach, as Fellow for her distinguished contributions to quality. Kovach is a technology project management professor and director of the Lean Six Sigma professional training program at the University of Houston College of Technology.

According to ASQ, individuals who have made outstanding contributions in quality engineering/management earn this honor. Their contributions have advanced the implementation of existing and the development of new quality improvement methods through research in partnership with industry from which both students and practitioners have learned to solve problems on a project-by-project basis to enhance their organization’s performance and competitive advantage. ASQ currently has nearly 650 active Fellows who represent diverse industries.

Kovach will begin to serve as the editor of Lean & Six Sigma Review, an ASQ publication, in January 2019. The peer-reviewed magazine is published four times per year. She will serve as editor for three years.

Dr. Kovach will receive the official Fellow recognition during a ceremony at the 2019 World Conference on Quality and Improvement, May 20-22, in Fort Worth, TX.  She serves as chair of the technical program committee for the conference.
