Julio Alonso, a computer engineering technology senior and Succeed in Engineering Technology (SETS) scholar, won a first place award for the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Diversity Committee's 2018 Student Essay/Video contest. Students were challenged to describe experiences working on a diverse team in the context of engineering or engineering education.
Julio serves as the vice president of the SETS program at the University of Houston and is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
