Alumnus David Garza reflects on the meaning of Father’s Day
“My father, Dan Garza, has always been my definition for success. Now that I have a son of my own, I am proud to pass on the knowledge, wisdom and experience that my father gave to me”.
(David Garza, ‘17)
The father of four boys, Dan Garza decided to make a bold life-changing move as he moved into his early 50s. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Technology Leadership and Supervision ('05) at the University of Houston College of Technology. Five years later, he pursued his Master of Science in Technology Project Management. With admiration, his son David Garza said, “He gained the knowledge, wisdom, and experience to make something of himself, while balancing the challenges of working full-time”.
”We are a family of Coogs and we will continue as leaders of a tradition of education, and building a ‘nation of Coogs’, which is why this past Father’s Day, I surprised my dad by getting him a UHAA life membership, to show him how much him being an alum means.”
