The Project Management Institute (PMI) Global Accreditation Center for Project Management Education Programs (GAC) recognized the University of Houston for successful completion of the reaccreditation process. The graduate programs for information systems security, technology project management, and supply chain and logistics technology were awarded renewal of the GAC accreditation for the period July 2016 through June 2023. James M. Szot, Ph.D., P.E., PMP®, presented the award during a team luncheon at the University of Houston Hilton Hotel, March 22. Dr. Szot is director of the project management program at the University of Texas and a GAC director.
Technology Project Management (TPM) was one of the first programs to receive the GAC accreditation in 2009. Dr. Ronald Hopkins, associate professor and program director, stated that the GAC is recognized as the world’s leading specialized accrediting body for project management and related degree programs.
GAC accreditation is a testament that the program demonstrates a commitment to academic quality and excellence, meets global accreditation standards, and prepares students to enter the workforce.
Full-time faculty members for the Technology Project Management program include Ron Hopkins, Ph.D. visiting associate professor and director; Gary Richardson, Ph.D., PMI endowed professor; Jamison V. Kovach, Ph.D., associate professor; and David Ding, Ph.D., associate professor.
