Computer Information System Students Win Top Awards at Regional Conference

The University of Houston was named Third Best Overall School

Computer Information Systems (CIS) students from the University of Houston's College of Technology earned top awards at the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) Region 3 Student Conference. The event was held from October 20 - 22 at Amarillo College in Amarillo, Texas. During the conference, thirteen different organizations and universities from Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Texas participated in C# Programming, Office Troubleshooting, PC Troubleshooting, Network Design, Mobile Applications, and other IT-related contests.

Twelve students from UH competed in the various academic contests with CIS students winning awards in the following categories: Seth Owings and Andrew Stiefler won first place in Systems Analysis and Design; Aaron Rubesh was second place winner in Cyber Security; Michelle Nguyen and Chris Tran won second place in Microsoft Office Solutions; and, Richard Lee and Ethan Orcutt won third place in Systems Analysis and Design.
