In the College of Technology, ensuring the success of our students is the ultimate goal for our faculty and staff. Among the most important measures are the numbers of students successfully completing their first year, graduating in four years, and landing jobs.
The faculty and staff in our college sincerely strive to create a caring and trusting culture, believing that people care less about how much we know, and more about knowing that we care.
We are proud of our strong industry connections with top national and international employers. Several College of Technology programs strongly encourage students to gain industry experience through an internship with a company after completing their first year. Annual salaries for internships can range from $40,000 to $50,000. Upon degree completion, our graduates often leverage their internship experiences to land positions with higher starting salaries, with some earning more than $80,000 per year.
Since we prepare our graduates to be industry-ready by deepening their technical acumen, interpersonal skills, and critical thinking, our programs are among the most challenging. Sincere commitment, professionalism, high-performance, and demonstrating a team spirit are expected of our students.
The achievements of our alumni are positive proof that within your reach are innumerable possibilities to excel - even when the job market is the most competitive. Many of our graduates are vital industry leaders. Driven to make a difference, they have "can-do" attitudes, enjoying and discovering better ways of doing things without fear of failure and seeking the experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude.
As a prospective student of our college, what legacy do you want to leave behind at UH? What are your aspirations after graduation? How could you make this world a better place to live? Are you willing to give your education your best effort?
If you are intrigued and excited by these questions, then "Welcome aboard!" You are about to embark on an academic journey that leads to success.
Sincerely,
Dr. Neil N. Eldin, PhD, PE
