UH Energy Fellow Named
UH Energy has launched the UH Energy Fellows Program, a forum to bring together UH faculty and students from across the nine energy-related colleges and showcase them as thought leaders in their field. Dr. Raymond Cline, Chair of the Information and Logistics Technology Department, has been named a Fellow, joining eight others from colleges across campus, who will work in collaboration with UH Energy and the Energy Advisory Board to shape the conversation on energy at UH and beyond. Each Energy Fellow will contribute postings on an energy related topic in an area of interest to the Energy Fellows Blog.
ABET Evaluator Appointed
Professor Bret Detillier has been approved by the Computing Sciences Accreditation Board (CSAB) and ABET as an evaluator for information systems programs. "This is a great honor and accomplishment for Professor Detillier," said William Fitzgibbon, Dean of the College of Technology. "We are looking forward to learning from his experience and applying it to the continued growth and enhancement of our CIS program."
Professor named International Academy of Quality Academician
Dr. Jamison V. Kovach, an associate professor in the University of Houston's College of Technology, has received the honor of being named a full Academician, the highest level of membership in the International Academy for Quality (IAQ). The IAQ is a global organization that monitors quality-related issues across all industries. Kovach was inducted into the IAQ as an Associate Academician in 2011.
"This is an honor and a privilege because over the past few years I've had the great opportunity to meet and interact with several of the true leaders in the quality field," Kovach said.
She will be receive a certificate to commemorate this achievement at the World Quality Forum of the International Academy for Quality, which will be held October 26-27 in Budapest, Hungary.
