Esko Donates Industry Leading Software for Package Design
Esko

Esko, a world leading provider of packaging and printing pre-production solutions, has announced that the company will support the University of Houston College of Technology by providing industry standard ArtiosCAD software to the Digital Media packaging program. "We appreciate Esko for providing our students with access to several unique software programs including ArtiosCAD and the Studio Suite of 3D graphical package design software," said Professor Jean Pierce. "The packaging industry has been growing exponentially. Our location in a port city provides University of Houston students with unique opportunities for exposure to an array of corporations and career options available for packaging professionals."

The ArtiosCAD software is a leading structural design solution for packaging and displays, highly regarded as an integral component of a comprehensive packaging education. The Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP), a longtime supporter of the Digital Media program at UH, worked with Professor Pierce to identify the tools that would be most useful for the next generation of packaging professionals. In addition to providing easy access to design standards for corrugated, folding carton and point of purchase (POP) displays, students will be able to showcase new designs in 3D to make their work more impressive.

Students interested in learning these skills can contact Professor Pierce (jpierce [at] uh.edu (jpierce[at]uh[dot]edu)) to find out more about the program. The course (DIGM 3355 Packaging Technology) is available every fall for University of Houston students
