Retailing and Consumer Science Program Salutes Retailing Visionaries

Houston's retail industry visionaries will join in the 'Salute to Retail', led by the University of Houston College of Technology Retailing and Consumer Science program on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at River Oaks Country Club. The achievements of several retailers and leaders in the city of Houston will be recognized at the event, which is co-chaired by Donna Vallone and Penny Loyd.

Victor Costa, veteran fashion designer and UH alumnus will receive the Legends Award, the first lifetime achievement award offered in the history of the event. Other honorees from the fashion industry will include Julie Phillips Roberts, owner of the Elizabeth Anthony fashion boutique, as well as fashion event producers, Lenny T. Matuszewski, Jr. and Tamara Klosz BonarBrad Marks and Joanna Marks, of IW Marks Jewelers, are being recognized for contributions in jewelry retail. Welcome W. Wilson, Jr. and Joanne Wilson will receive the community service honor.

All proceeds from the event will benefit The Star Endowment for Human Development and Consumer Sciences, which provides scholarships for promising retailing and consumer science students.
