Cougars for Kids Volunteer Recognized at Texas Medical Center Celebration

The Texas Medical Center Volunteer Service Advisory Council ‘2015 Salute to Volunteers’ luncheon, Thursday, May 14, featured Dr. Denton A. Cooley as guest speaker. Dr. Cooley is a distinguished cardiovascular surgeon who created the Texas Heart Institute and School of Surgery. Honoree, An Dinh, a volunteer in the University of Houston Cougars For Kids program was named UH Volunteer of the year. Dinh, a junior who is majoring in liberal studies at UH, was chosen because she had 136 volunteer hours at Memorial Hermann Hospital since June 2014.

Cougars for Kids originated in the UH College of Technology, founded by Dr. Jerry Evans, Director. College of Technology staff member, Lois Nichols serves as Assistant Director.
