The University of Houston Engineering Technology Department in the College of Technology has named Dr. Mequanint Moges as Assistant Chair. "Dr. Moges brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm and we can be sure that he will make a positive impact on the advancement of our department," said Dr. Wajiha Shireen, Chair of the Engineering Technology Department.
Dr. Moges joined the Engineering Technology Department in 2005 as Instructional Assistant Professor and became Instructional Associate Professor in 2011. He has taught a variety of engineering technology courses and has been active in several Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), Faculty Development Initiative Program (FDIP) and National Science Foundation (NSF) grants.
He has been an advisor for award-winning student projects, which have earned distinguished recognition from Intel’s Cornell Cup.
Dr. Moges was a 2013 recipient of the College of Technology Teaching Excellence Award and the 2013-2014 University of Houston Teaching Excellence Award.
