The University of Houston College of Technology had the pleasure of hosting officials and faculty members from the University of Malaysia Pahang on February 9, 2015.
A relatively young institution, established in February 2002 in Pekan, Malaysia, the university specializes in engineering and technology. Led by Vice Chancellor Dr. Daing Nasir Ibrahim, the representatives included Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academic and International Affairs Dr. Wan Azhar Wan Yusoff; Deputy Registrar of the Department of Research and Innovation, Datin Fazia Ali; Dean of Engineering Technology, Dr. Zularisam Ab Wahid; Professor of Chemical Engineering and Natural Resources, Dr. Mimi Sakinah Abdul Munaim and Senior Assistant Registrar of Engineering Technology, Emma Melati Burhanuddin.
Their interest is in developing new programs at the University of Malaysia Pahang, specifically in computer engineering, electrical power engineering and petroleum technology. In addition, they were greatly interested in student and faculty exchange, and joint research programs with the College of Technology’s faculty.
