Samuel Holmes Named Project Logistics Innovator of the Year

UH College of Technology alum, Samuel Holmes, (BS, Supply Chain and Logistics Technology), received the Project Logistics Innovator of the Year award at the Global Supply Chain Management Oil and Energy Leaders on Demand Conference, November 12, 2014. The award recognizes individuals who are consistently mentioned for meeting customer demands. Wood Group Mustang was selected due to their overall achievements with complex project logistics, particularly with their innovation in the energy sector. The panel particularly noted comments from individual customers in especially mentioning Sam's proactive approach.

Holmes was recognized for his contribution as an advisor to the development of a project logistics/heavy lift technology. At the event, he co-presented with the director of logistics from the engineering company CH2M Hill, and spoke about the role of project logistics in the engineering, procurement, and construction management.

Samuel arrived in Houston as an international student from Liberia in 2007. He earned an associate’s degree in Logistics Management from Lone Star College, before attending the University Of Houston College Of Technology. At UH, Holmes actively served as vice president for Supply Chain Industrial Distribution Organization (SIDO) and as a member of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals. Upon graduation in 2012, Sam joined Wood Group Mustang, Inc., as logistics coordinator.
