Inna Grigorova, a digital media undergraduate student, has been awarded the Irma Clifton and Bowen Williamson scholarship. The $1400 scholarship is offered through the Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation (PGSF), a not-for-profit, private, industry-directed organization that dispenses undergraduate college scholarships and graduate fellowship assistance to individuals interested in graphic communication careers.
Born and raised in Sofia, Bulgaria, Inna moved to the United States during the summer of 2006. Upon completion of her associate of arts degree at Houston Community College, Inna decided to continue her education at the University of Houston, majoring in digital media in the College of Technology. Inna is currently the Treasurer/Membership director of The International Graphic Arts Education Association at the University of Houston. "My experiences at UH have been greatly enriched by the various extracurricular activities, and I encourage all other international students to get involved, "said Inna.
As an international student from Bulgaria, Inna has overcome extreme hardship to earn her education in the US. "My career goal is to earn a position as a general manager of a major printing corporation and an award like this is a wonderful motivator", said Inna.
"This is a highly competitive scholarship and I am very proud of Inna's achievement," said Dr. Jerry Waite. "It attests to her personal scholarship, hard work, and dedication".
