Students Publish Research in Leading Industry Journal
The research papers of three Digital Media program undergraduate students will be published in the Fall 2012 edition of the Visual Communications Journal, the official publication of the International Graphic Arts Education Association (IGAEA).
"This is the first result of the Digital Media undergraduate research methodology that utilizes the services of the UH Writing Center beginning in the sophomore year. I am pleased with their work and proud of their accomplishments," said Dr. Jerry Waite, Professor, and Digital Media Program Coordinator.
Undergraduate student Jessica Gann's paper, "The Importance of Megapixels in Web Design" examines the relationship between the "megapixel myth" and images used in web design.
In addition, the Visual Communications Journal will publish thesis papers of two recent College of Technology graduates, Tinisha Bonaby and Adam Aune. Bonaby's research "Print Adaptation in a Technology Expanding World" discusses how technology and Internet outlets have been affecting the print media industry. Aune's paper, "Responsible Printing" catalogs environmental information pertaining to the print industry so that the common misconceptions about print are dispelled for consumers. Bonaby and Aune were officers in the student chapter of the University of Houston IGAEA.
