Academic and Career Services Center Offers Resources for Job-Seeking Students

The College of Technology Fall 2012 Career Fair offers a unique opportunity for Technology majors to meet company representatives from a diverse range of industries including chemical, construction, energy, engineering, computer technology, and retailing. Designed specifically for College of Technology students, the Career Fair will be held at the University of Houston, Wednesday, September 26, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in the Houston Room of the University Center (UC).

All participating College of Technology students and companies must use TechConnect to register for the Career Fair, view a complete list of participating employers, apply for full-time, part-time and internship opportunities, as well as upload resumes and cover letters.

Network Like a Pro and Improve Your Resume

In preparation for the Fall Career Fair, Technology students will learn how to network like a pro while meeting with potential employers who will review resumes and give feedback on what they look for in candidates. ”Network Like a Pro” will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 3:00 p.m. in the Rockwell Pavilion of the M.D. Anderson Library.

Job seekers who need help with their resumes are invited to attend resume critique sessions on Tuesday, September 4, 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 14, 2:00 p.m., and Thursday, September 20, 2:00 p.m. in Technology Building T-2, room 116.
