John W. Dalton, Sr. receives Richard L. Tucker Award at Construction Industry Institute (CII) Annual Conference

John W. Dalton, Sr., executive vice president of Mustang, a Wood Group company, recently received the Richard L. Tucker Leadership & Service Award from the Construction Industry Institute (CII). The award was presented at the organization's annual conference in Chicago. The award recognized Dalton for his significant contributions to the advancement of CII's mission and success as an organization.

Dalton has served on multiple committees during his more than 20-year association with CII. Most recently he has been a member of the Executive Advisory Committee and chaired that committee in 2009. He has actively promoted the use of CII research to develop and implement corporate strategies and work processes.

He has almost 40 years industry experience, including operations and staff management positions in all aspects of engineering, procurement and construction both domestically and internationally. At Mustang, Dalton oversees global engineering, project services, information technology, construction operations, the company's Process Plants and Industrial business unit, and two regions, including Latin and South America and Europe, Middle East, North Africa and India.

A graduate of the University of Houston, Dalton has had leadership roles in the Engineering and Construction Contracting Association (ECC) and was named to the elite National Academy of Construction in 2010. He currently sits on advisory boards for engineering and/or construction programs at four major universities (including in UH's College of Technology), and has made significant contributions to strengthening the link between academia and industry.
