Research at the University of Houston received another boost last session when Texas created the National Research University Fund (NRUF), which will provide funding for research to develop Tier One universities in Texas. At this point, only two Texas universities qualify for the more than $600 million of NRUF funding; the University of Houston and Texas Tech University.
In a message to the university community, President Renu Khator stated, "This is truly a milestone and an occasion for celebration. I look forward, as I hope you do, to what we can accomplish together in the future."
