UH's Center for Student Involvement hosted the 25th Annual Campus Leaders Reception and Awards Ceremony on April 27th, 2011. The Campus Leaders Reception is one of the University of Houston's oldest traditions. It is a program that honors outstanding students, organizations and programs throughout the academic year. The over 400 UH campus student organizations that are under the Center for Student Involvement's (CSI) jurisdiction are eligible to compete.
The College of Technology and the Department of Information Logistics and Technology were recipients of the following 3 awards:

Outstanding Professional Student Organization - AITP (Association of IT Professionals)
Professional student organization that exemplifies contribution to membership development and has made a significant impact through its programs and/or services.

Outstanding Educational Program of the Year - AITP for their hosting of the 2010 AITP Region 3 Student Conference.
Program implemented by a student organization that demonstrates an outstanding effort to expose the student body to important and thought-provoking issues.

Faculty Advisor of the Year - Bret Detillier, AITP
Faculty Advisor to a student organization that has gone above and beyond in serving students to carry out programs. This faculty/staff member is diligent in being available to students and contributing valuable knowledge of UH resources to actively assist members.
The Center for Student Involvement provides services for Registered Student Organizations, offers advising and training for students leading organizations, connects students with opportunities to be involved on campus, and supports over 400 major student organizations at the University of Houston.
