As a part of the Fulbright Joint-Supervision Program, Safae Bourhnane, a Ph.D. student from Morocco, is visiting the lab of Dr. Driss Benhaddou, Professor of Engineering Technology in the College of Technology.

Dr. Benhaddou is serving as her co-advisor with Dr. Mohamed Riduan Abid of Al Akhawayn University located in Ifrane, Morocco. Safae is working within the scope of a USAID funded project managed by the National Academies, “Towards Smart Microgrids: Renewable Energy Integration into Smart Buildings.” Dr. Abid is also visiting UH this summer for 3 weeks to further collaboration on the project.

“I feel blessed to be part of the Fulbright Joint Supervision Program. It allowed me to benefit from Dr. Benhaddou’s great and professional supervision and carry on my research at an amazing university such as the University of Houston.” Safae will return to her studies in Morocco at the end of the summer.
