The University of Houston 2013 Merchandising Star Awards recognizes members of the retail community for their contributions to the industry. Proceeds from this event benefit the Department of Human Development and Consumer Sciences in the Retailing and Consumer Science Program, which prepares UH College of Technology undergraduates for retail careers. Honorees include CultureMap, Silver Eagle Distributors, and Tootsies. The event will also recognize standout students from the program. Dominique Sachse, UH alumna and news anchor for KPRC Channel 2, will host the event, which is chaired by Soraya McClelland, with Honorary Chairman Dancie Perugini Ware.
