TechConnect Helps Students Gain an Edge in Competitive Job Market

TechConnect is designed in response to requests from student and technology employers to highlight career opportunities in the technology industry.

College of Technology Assistant Dean for Academic Services Carmen Carter says: "TechConnect is amazing software that will allow more interface between employers and our students. Career services in the college has been looking for ways to service our students in a more holistic way as well as engage prospective employers and employees, and TechConnect allows us to do that and so much more! Current students can upload resumes and cover letters, apply for jobs immediately, and register for career workshops and fairs. Employers can post positions and search resumes specific to their needs, as well as register for the career fair and other college events."

The website offers several ground-breaking features to both students and employers. In addition to sharing information about career fairs and job searches, students can login to Employer Information Sessions to learn about prospective employers. Users can also visit the multi-media rich Resources Library with information about college career services, tips for deciding on a career path, and samples of resumes. Having the capability to access this information on-line will give Technology students the competitive edge in today’s job market.
