Two College of Technology alumni were honored for their efforts by the UH Alumni Association for their volunteer efforts at the 57th Awards Gala.
Joe Green ('80, Business Technology) account manager with Ricoh Business Solutions, was honored with the Outstanding Volunteer Award, and Cheryl Creuzot ('81 Business Technology, JD '92, LLM '99), President and CEO of Wealth Development Strategies L.P., was honored with the Distinguished Alumna Award.
The Outstanding Volunteer Award recognizes alumni who exemplify the spirit of volunteerism, giving generously of their time to advance the missions of the university and Alumni Association. When he is not working, Green can be found dedicating much of his time to helping others as a member of numerous organizations, including the Technology Alumni Association, Cougar Pride and the Cougar Cookers. In addition, he is a Life Member of the UH Alumni Association, and a Lifetime Committeeman with Frontier Fiesta. Over the past eight years, Mr. Green has also played a very large role in Operation School Supplies, and has served as the Sort & Box Chair for the last five years.
The Distinguished Alumna Award recognizes and honors alumni who have made significant contributions to society and whose careers have brought credit to the university. Creuzot is a former chair of the UHAA Board of Directors and has served on the board of the UH Law Alumni Association. Currently, she serves as a trustee of the University of Houston Foundation. In 1993, she was appointed by Governor Ann Richards to serve a six-year term on the Texas Public Finance Authority Board. Mutual Funds Magazine has selected her as one of the Top 100 Advisors in the country on multiple occasions.
