HOUSTON, December 7, 2010 - John W. Dalton, Sr., Mustang Executive Vice President, was inducted into the National Academy of Construction (NAC) on October 28, 2010, during its annual meeting in New York City. Election to the NAC is a prestigious achievement for leaders in the engineering and construction industry, and its rigorous requirements for membership are reserved for those who have made significant contributions that have resulted in step-changes to the effectiveness of the engineering and construction industry.
The mission of the NAC is to recognize distinguished achievement in the American construction industry and to use that knowledge and wisdom for the benefit of the nation. Construction is the largest American industry and has played a key role in helping Americans to enjoy one of the highest standards of living in the world.
The election of members to the National Academy of Construction follows a peer-nomination and strict clearance procedure with final membership elected by the entire Academy. Total membership in the NAC is 119 members across the nation.
Dalton has 37 years of experience in the engineering and construction industry and has held executive staff and operations management positions in all aspects of engineering, procurement, and construction. At Mustang he is responsible for all project delivery services including engineering, procurement, project controls and construction services. He is also responsible for Mustang's two downstream global business units and the Europe/N. Africa/Middle East/India and Latin/South America regions.
A graduate of the University of Houston, Mr. Dalton sits on industry advisory committees for engineering and construction programs at Texas A&M University, University of Houston and the University of Texas at Austin. He also served as the 2009 Chairman of the Construction Industry Institute and is past Chairman of the Engineering and Construction Contracting Association.
