CMT Student Places Second in International Photography Contest

Masters in Construction Management Technology student Yash Tiwari placed second in the International Photography contest, "Studio 414 One World Photography," winning $300 and the opportunity to have his work exhibited at the MD Anderson Library. Yash has been a College of Technology student for about a year. He recently moved here from India to complete his Master's Degree in Construction Management, after earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture.

Yash has 10 years of photographic experience, and his work includes different styles such as abstract, expressive, artistic nude, and architectural. His work has opened new doors for him in the world of photography. Yash uses cultural elements from his country to define his artistic style. According to Yash, "Photography deals with technical, emotional and abstract levels of art. ...This is why I find Photography challenging and therefore interesting. I think it’s a wonderful medium of expression. Eye blinks...Finger reacts... Shutter clicks... and then, in between, there is a moment.... a moment called Life. I try to portray Life through snapshots."

Yash is very thankful to the College of Technology for all the encouragement and support. "As a student of the College of Technology, I feel proud to be in this exhibition as the only technical college student of UH," says Yash.
