UH AT&T Lab Hosts Internet2 Dynamic Circuits Network (DCN) Workshop
UH AT&T Lab

The UH AT&T Lab hosted the first Internet2 Dynamic Circuit Network (DCN) workshop in the University of Houston today.

The Internet2 DC Network is a revolutionary, optical circuit network that provides dedicated bandwidth for the most demanding applications. Currently under development, the Internet2 DC Network uses community-developed, standards-based technologies and protocols to provide on-demand, dedicated optical paths between endpoints. Just as the R&E community led the way decades ago in expanding the reach and capabilities of packet networking using the IP and TCP protocols, the new Internet2 DC Network breaks new ground to provide the U.S. research and education community dedicated, customizable, on-demand bandwidth.
